About Mr. Millard

I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BA in Biology, Society, and the Environment and have my Masters of Arts in Teaching Science from Western Governor’s University.

My teaching philosophy is founded in a deep respect for the students in my classroom. I believe each child has limitless curiosity and capacity to learn. Science is the study of how our world works and how we as humans can solve problems. It reminds us that anything is possible.

Outside of school, I spend time with my family and fixing up our Northeast Minneapolis home. My wife, Jamie, and I have a new baby girl, who was born in 2015, a dog, and a cat. We spend our weekends taking our daughter for walks, to parks, and teaching her about the magical world she lives in. Our family volunteers regularly for nonprofits working to make our communities thrive and more equitable for all.

  • There are more cells in your body than there are stars in the galaxy.
  • If you drilled a tunnel straight through the Earth and jumped in, it would take you exactly 42 minutes and 12 seconds to get to the other side.

Every problem can have multiple solutions. To see them you have to look at the big picture overall. Don’t limit yourself to just one route.
